Awesome Box

Interact with an amazing or useful item from the library and return it to the Awesome Box instead of the normal drop box. That item gets recorded as Awesome so the community can see what others have found helpful, entertaining, or mind-blowing.

March 2012 Update

Awesome Box has a minimal but functional technical structure in place. This includes a database backend to store Awesome items, an interface for library staff to scan items into the Awesome system, and both an RSS feed and Twitter stream of recently Awesome items.

We have ordered parts to try various methods of detecting deposited items and providing feedback via an electronic display or indicator light. We have also begun contacting library staff members to discuss how best to integrate the physical box into the library.
