The Connected Scholar is an online writing workspace for students and scholars to compose writing projects while tracking the progression of their ideas through exploratory, intellectual engagement with established works. This space integrates student writing with resource discovery and management while guiding students to develop the practice of proper source attribution. Feature development of the prototype includes an online collaborative writing space based on Etherpad, a timeline slider to review versions and progress, collaborative tools such as real-time chat and annotation, and integration with library resources.
