Scanning Key Content establishes a workflow to insert scanning of selected content into the acquisitions or cataloging process for some of Harvardā€™s hidden printed book collections. In accordance with fair use guidelines, cover images, tables of contents, colophons, and/or inscriptions can all be added to the catalog entry for a book at the point of processing. Benefits include expanding processing capabilities within current infrastructure, providing increased information to catalog users, and laying the groundwork for a much more dynamic and flexible future onlineĀ catalog.
