FACADE2 is a collaborative project between The Frances Loeb Library and the MIT Libraries to further development of a shared production tool, workflows, and repository for the collecting, archiving, access, and preservation of electronic architectural files. Strategies for the long-term preservation and access to Computer Aided Design (CAD) files are not yet mature, and this project promotes the field testing of workflows and processes for capturing both files and necessary related metadata.
