DASH for Collection Development sought to use DASH, Harvard’s institutional repository, as a library collection development tool by aggregating reference data from articles deposited in DASH and comparing it with the Harvard library collections. Aggregate data could support bibliographers evaluating resources for possible purchase. Technological limitations in extracting and accurately parsing citation data proved to be a substantial challenge to this project.
